The HT-OBS-DC Orbital Floor Sander delivers a smooth, swirl-free finish on timber floors, hardwood, parquetry, and hard surfaces including tile and terrazzo. With a large 12″ × 18″ sanding pad and integrated dust collection, it’s built for professionals who need consistent results and a cleaner job site.
Unlike drum sanders, the orbital action of the HT-OBS-DC removes old finishes and surface imperfections without the risk of cross-grain scratching — making it ideal for maintenance, restoration, and final finishing work. The 1/4″ orbit diameter and 3,000 orbits per minute (230V model) deliver controlled, uniform abrasion across the full pad surface.
The integrated dust collection system — including blower housing, impeller, and exhaust tube — captures sanding dust at the source, reducing airborne particles and keeping your work area cleaner. A reusable dust bag is included, and the machine is compatible with 2″ remote vacuum systems for even greater dust extraction performance.
Large 12″ × 18″ Sanding Pad Covers more floor per pass than smaller orbital sanders, reducing job time on open floor areas.
Integrated Dust Collection Built-in blower and impeller system with included dust bag (Part No. 53741A). Compatible with 2″ remote vacuum systems and adaptable to 1½” hose via included adapter (Part No. 30563A).
1 HP / 750W Motor Powerful enough for stripping old finishes with coarse abrasives (20–36 grit) and fine enough for finishing cuts (60–100 grit) without burning the floor surface.
Dual-Lever Safety Control with Interlock The machine only runs when the operator actively holds both levers — release to stop. An interlock button must be depressed before the levers activate, preventing accidental starts.
Adjustable Handle with Quick-Release Compression Lever Set the handle to a comfortable working height. The handle remains unlocked during operation to allow the machine to rest evenly on the pad for consistent sanding pressure.
Hook-and-Loop Pad System Abrasives attach and remove quickly without tools. Compatible with both adhesive-backed sheet abrasives and screen abrasives.

Initial Cut — Use 20–36 grit to strip old finish and level gross imperfections.
Intermediate Cut — Use 60–80 grit to remove scratch marks left by the initial cut.
Final / Finishing Cut — Use 80–100 grit for a smooth surface ready for coating. Note: excessively fine grits can close the wood grain and impair stain penetration. Replace abrasives when glazing or burning occurs.
