Diamond Hand Saws Perth & Western Australia

Taman supplies petrol, electric, battery, high-frequency and hydraulic diamond hand saws to contractors, concreters and demolition crews across Perth and Western Australia. Whether you’re cutting concrete kerbs on a Perth metro project, working indoors without ventilation, or pushing into heavily reinforced slabs, we stock the right machine, from the right brand, with local support behind it.

We carry WEKA, Husqvarna, Stihl, Tyrolit, Hycon, Golz and Makita. Every saw we stock is selected because it performs in Australian site conditions not just on a European spec sheet.

Petrol Hand Saws

Petrol hand saws are the most widely used option on Perth construction and civil sites. Driven by a two-stroke motor, they require no external power source and move freely around the job. That freedom comes with trade-offs: two-stroke engines need a correctly mixed fuel-oil ratio, produce exhaust fumes that restrict indoor use, and carry higher maintenance demands than electric alternatives.

Blade capacity: up to 16″ (416mm). Maximum cut depth: 145mm (ring saw configuration: up to 300mm).

Key brands stocked: Stihl TS420, TS700, TS800, TS910i.

The Stihl TS910i adds electronic fuel injection, eliminating the choke sequence and delivering consistent starts across varying conditions, a significant advantage on early morning Perth sites in winter.

Electric Hand Saws

Cable electric saws draw power from a standard 10-amp or 15-amp outlet. They produce no fumes, making them the default choice for indoor concrete cutting, basement slabs, interior walls, carpark decks and any enclosed environment where ventilation is limited.
They are typically less powerful than petrol equivalents at equivalent blade sizes. This is best offset by pairing them with an electric-specification diamond blade, a softer bond, thinner segment design that compensates for lower motor torque and maintains cutting speed comparable to petrol.

Blade capacity: up to 16″ (416mm). Maximum cut depth: 145mm.

Battery Hand Saws

Battery-powered saws are relatively new to the professional concrete cutting market and have matured quickly. Current models operate at 9″ (230mm) and 14″ (350mm), with a maximum cut depth of 127mm, sufficient for the majority of slab, kerb and masonry cutting tasks.

Advantages over petrol: no fumes (indoor-safe), no cables, significantly lower maintenance. In our testing, a battery saw paired with an electric diamond blade outperforms a petrol equivalent at equivalent blade sizes. The trade-offs are a modest weight increase (5–10% heavier) and recharge downtime between batteries.

Key brands stocked: Stihl TSA300 (skin only + AP500 battery), Makita 14″ battery kit.

High-Frequency Hand Saws

High-frequency saws connect to a frequency converter and can draw from a 10A, 15A or 20A (3-phase) power supply. They produce no fumes, operate quietly relative to petrol, and deliver exceptional power output. Three-phase supply unlocks the full performance ceiling, a 10kVA generator on-site achieves this where mains 3-phase isn’t available.

High-frequency equipment is available in three configurations: hand saw, ring saw and chainsaw, allowing cut depths up to 410mm in chainsaw configuration, the maximum achievable with handheld equipment short of hydraulic.

Hydraulic Hand Saws

Hydraulic saws are powered by a hydraulic power pack via high-pressure hoses. They match high-frequency saws in raw cutting power and exceed them in one critical environment: underwater. Hydraulic equipment produces no fumes and operates effectively in the most demanding access conditions, underwater utility work, post-flood demolition, confined wet environments.

The trade-off is system complexity. Hydraulic hoses, fluid management and power pack maintenance add to total cost of ownership compared to high-frequency alternatives.

Available in hand saw, ring saw and chainsaw configurations. Maximum cut depth: 410mm (chainsaw).
